Research

My research sits at the intersection of law, bioethics, health policy, data protection, and health data governance.

Research themes

My work examines how law and ethics shape biomedical research, health data use, healthcare innovation, and the organisation of healthcare systems.

Health data governance

I examine how health data can be collected, linked, shared, reused, protected, and governed for research and public health.

Data protection and biomedical research

I study the interaction between data protection law and biomedical research, especially in the Swiss and European contexts.

Assisted reproductive technologies

I work on ethical and legal questions concerning assisted reproductive technologies, including access, age, and regulation.

Digital health and emerging technologies

I analyse ethical and legal issues raised by digital health tools, digital pills, health apps, machine learning, and precision medicine.

Public health ethics

I am interested in ethical questions concerning public health emergencies, preparedness, health policy, and collective responsibility.

Healthcare systems and regulation

I study how legal frameworks affect the organization of healthcare systems and the delivery of healthcare services.
